More than a Music Festival
Can't Miss Event: ROMP Bluegrass Festival
If you love live music and the outdoors, you do not want to miss ROMP! The highly anticipated bluegrass festival returns for the 20th year this summer in Owensboro, Kentucky. Last year’s festival welcomed more than 18,500 attendees, with visitors from 36 states and four countries, including people from Great Britain, Germany, and France.
ROMP takes place at Yellow Creek Park, a 150-acre facility with beautiful hiking trails, forested areas, a winding creek and even a large lake. It’s the perfect setting for four days of roots music, arts, food trucks, workshops, and onsite camping. And it’s family friendly!
The Lineup:
The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum has announced this year’s lineup, which includes the Old Crow Medicine Show and Hall of Fame members Ricky Skaggs, Sam Bush, and Peter Rowan as headliners. Grammy-winning Rhonda Vincent is returning, as well as Grammy nominated ‘Best New Artist’ Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, The Infamous Stringdusters, and many more. Live music performances take place throughout the day (and way into the night at the late night stage) as well as instrument workshops, professionally-led children’s activities, meet-and-greets, yoga sessions, and dance classes. There will also be organic and farm-to-table food vendors, craft vendors, and art installations.
The festival is open to guests of all ages, and tickets for kids 12 and under are free. For camping enthusiasts, there are many different types of campsites offered, including family-friendly ones. So, grab your banjo and a tent, and make plans to romp around at ROMP, June 21-24. Tickets and more information can be found at rompfest.com.
