converse. collaborate. coexist.

Gary May is the kind of guy you want on your side. When he and Chuck Johnson, owner of Deerhead Sidewalk Cafe, first met, that became clear to Chuck. Gary had previously visited the established Evansville pizzeria only to learn that the restrooms were not wheelchair accessible. Instead of standing firm in the fact that his 1860's building was grandfathered into compliance, Chuck took the time to have a conversation with Gary and hear his concerns. The two collaborated on a few simple renovations at Deerhead, many of which Chuck made himself. Now, the restaurant is more accessible for everyone - from the parking to the restrooms - and all it took was a conversation between two people who started as strangers and ended up as friends.
